Following the approval of the knowledge and support technical assistance (KSTA) on Building Disaster-Resilient Infrastructure through Enhanced Knowledge, Asian Development Bank (ADB) has engaged the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to deliver Output 3 on enhancing resilient recovery capacity. This project strengthens the action-oriented disaster risk management knowledge for disaster-resilient infrastructure in Armenia, Cambodia, Fiji, and Sri Lanka, four Developing Member Countries (DMCs) of the ADB. The grant fund for the project "resilient recovery capacity enhanced" was received from the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction, financed by the Government of Japan through the ADB.
The Project also aims to improve the enabling environment for recovery by formulating Disaster Recovery Guidelines. The development of Guidelines will help define institutional arrangements, financial mechanisms, implementation and monitoring arrangements, and local systems for recovery during small and large-scale disasters and address the recovery needs of the affected communities to build back better.
