Main Purpose Of Role
The Director, Technology Finance role is within the Central Technology Finance Team supporting the Technology organisation within LSEG. The Central Technology Finance Team is responsible for all activities that impact the wider technology group including core FP&A/Decision Support consolidated reporting, budgeting, and investment planning. In addition to core business partnering to 3 divisions & overseeing strategic initiatives and M&A engagements.
This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end FP&A and month end process for Technology. The Director is expected to take full ownership of the budgeting, forecasting cycle & month end actual reporting to Group FP&A and Business Partnering with the wider Technology Finance Team. The successful candidate will need to be a critical thinker, who can think on their feet and engage with variety of stakeholders across the Company.
LSEG Technology brings together our product development and operations, internal technology, cyber security, and architecture groups and infrastructure.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate the ability to multitask on several projects/deliverables at the same time.
Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Coordinates a team of 4 Financial Planning and Analysis Specialists
- Drives the operating rhythm for Financial Planning & Analysis across Technology, working with Strategy, Investor Relations, FinCon and Business Finance teams, is committed to building positive relationships and encouraging improvement where necessary.
- Coordinates the Technology’s budgeting and forecasting process, including input into system design as well as the capital allocation process across the Technology Portfolio. Drives the production of Technology’s monthly / quarterly performance reports, for ExCo, Board and external investor review.
- Supports the Technology’s external reporting process, including the timely provision of detailed analyses to the Investor Relations team.
- Delivers efficient and accurate driver-based reporting on all costs and activities of the group.
- Deputise for the Head of Finance, Technology as required and provide guidance / leadership to the rest of team.
Technical/Professional Skills & Competencies
- Strong experience in a Finance role, preferably within Technology or Financial Services
- Experience of FP&A in larger Corporate organisations
- Tenacious and driven by delivering results, driving change
- Customer-focused with a commercial mindset
- Enjoys working in teams.
- Shows ability to work effectively across all functions of the business
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands for resources, ability to adapt to change
- Influencing and leading a multitude of stakeholders in finance and the business
- Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, global business environment.
- Familiarity with accounting and financial reporting
- Expert level with MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
Education/ Certifications
- Bachelors Degree
- Postgraduate qualification – eg MBA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent
