About The Position

We have received a request to get an intern in SL Finance team for a period of 6 months. The cost per month would be around EUR 150. The resource would be reporting to Piyanga in SL Finance team.

As a part of the digitalization agenda, Sri Lankan central bank has instructed banks to implement Direct Debit system instead of cheque warehousing. Linking with this objective our banking partner HSBC has selected Upfield Lanka along with few multinational companies to implement it by Q2 2023.

Currenlty 80% of Upfield Lanka collection is based on cheque warehousing method.


Benefit to Upfield Lanka;
  • a) Improved DSO and better control over cash collection (funds are available immediately)
  • b) Flexibility in collection timeline (24/7 transaction processing) opposed to cut off time in cheque warehousing.
  • C) Simple and convenient online collection solution to help save time and cost. (Eliminate the cheque book collection process, Elimination of manual work such as cheque serial number maintainance etc.)
  • D) Improved oversight of cash flow with instant notifications of collections.
  • E) Reduce the risk of delayed collection associated with cheque warehousing.
