Position - Agri Extension Officer

Job Role:
The position holder will play a pivotal role in promoting cutting-edge agricultural technologies among the farmers attached to company’s vegetable supply chain to improve farmer productivity, consistency in supply, quality of produce, and to reduce postharvest losses. Reporting to Manager Supply Chain he/she will promote best farming practices, climate smart agriculture, and usage of the Mobile App for information exchange, farmer advisory and traceability. Close coordination and rapport with relevant government agencies, particularly Department of Agriculture will be required.
Job Requirement:
- A Diploma in Agriculture with over 2 years of prior experience in farmer extension
- Sound knowledge and experience in vegetable growing, harvesting practices, and quality standards
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Conversant in MS Office package
- Willing to be based in Dambulla, and possessing a valid motor bike driving license.
