Position - Controller - Finance
We, Pelemix Lanka (Pvt) Ltd is a fully owned subsidiary of Pelemix Ltd, Israel. Pelemix is a global company, and it owns 6 production facilities across Sri Lanka, India, Thailand and state-of-the-art coir & peat substrate blending facility in Spain.
Pelemix coir is used worldwide as a growing media for various hydroponic-grown crops and various indoor and outdoor nurseries by professional and commercial growers. Pelemix uses modern technologies along with high-quality materials to produce different blends based on coir, including other materials such as high-quality peat.
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to oversee our financial records and account personnel, responsible for maintaining all procedures and controls associated with the company's financial accounts.
Based Location: Colombo
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process of the group
- Participation and support of audit process with auditors including the provision of WPs as required for quarterly reviews and annual audit.
- Participate and support the analysis of complex tax issues with outside advisors.
- Assist in design and documentation of internal controls.
- Participate in implementation of finance and IT-supporting systems.
- Support the study and implementation of new accounting standards in order to comply with IFRS.
- Perform and implement different controls to ensure proper posting in the books.
- Prepare different analysis and assist with various tasks related to everyday activity.
- Verify proper implementation of company’s processes and policies (expenses, travel, etc.)
- Participate and lead improvements in internal financial and system processes.
- Participate and lead in annual budgets and monthly cashflow statements.
- Ad-Hoc project.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years post Big 4 audit experience, preferably with at least 1 year experience in similar capacity
- Qualification in CA / CIMA / ACCA or, Degree in Finance / Accounting from a recognized University or institution.
- Advanced knowledge in ERP Systems – Microsoft Dynamics NAV will be an added advantage.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
