Position - Platform Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Linux and Windows Platform Support Engineer to join our team in Sri Lanka. This position involves providing technical support and expertise for both Linux and Windows platforms, ensuring the stability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure, including hosting and domain management. The successful candidate will be responsible for addressing platform-related issues, maintaining system integrity, and contributing to ongoing improvement projects.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Linux and Windows server platforms, including hosting and domain management.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage hosting and domain configurations and ensure their proper functioning.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure the stability and availability of servers.
  • Perform regular system maintenance and updates.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to support infrastructure projects.
  • Document procedures and create knowledge base articles.
  • Assist in capacity planning and scaling of server resources.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Linux and Windows platform support, including hosting and domain management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows server administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for platform-related issues.
  • Hosting and domain management experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Adaptable and able to work under pressure.


Must Have Technical Stack:

  • Linux server administration (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Windows server administration (Windows Server 2012/2016/2019).
  • Hosting and domain management.
  • Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Managing SSL

Alternate Technical Stack:

  • Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Shell scripting and automation.

Nice to Have Technical Stack:

  • Active Directory administration.
  • Web server administration (Apache, Nginx, IIS).
  • Database management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
  • Security and firewall management.
  • cPanel/WHM management.


Working Mode:

Hybrid


Work Hours: The position requires working on a roster basis according to the AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) time zone.
