Position - Intern Software Engineer

We are looking for a proactive and determined individual, to drive our go-to-market efforts of Daraz’s new fintech venture, Koko in Sri Lanka. Koko is a Buy Now Pay Later payment platform incubated under Daraz and was founded in Sri Lanka in 2020. We are passionate about evolving the merchant and consumer shopping experience by providing our customers with an easy, interest-free payment plan. Koko will be completely free for customers who pay on time – helping people spend responsibly without incurring interest, fees, or extended debt. Koko empowers customers to access the things they want and need, while still allowing them to maintain financial wellness and control, by splitting payments in three, for both online and in-store purchases. To support our ambitious growth plans, we’re looking for smart, collaborative, and passionate people who are looking to make a genuine impact in Sri Lanka’s financial and retail ecosystem.

JOB ROLE:

• Engage in end-to-end development, covering frontend to backend, ensuring seamless integration.
• Embrace Agile methodologies, participate in sprint planning, and contribute to iterative development cycles.
• Identify and resolve software bugs and issues across the full stack, including mobile applications.
• Ensure high code quality by following software engineering best practices.
• Document software designs, code, and application functionalities to facilitate future maintenance and upgrades.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. (Fresh Graduate students are welcome to apply)
• Technical Skills:
• A good understanding of Object Oriented Programming, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Understanding of Java programming language.
• Familiarity with frameworks like Spring Boot, Hibernate.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms with common sense.
• Frontend development skills. Vue Js and Angular preferred.
• Knowledge of SQL and RDBMS technologies
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
