Position - Senior Lead DevOps Engineer

Profile

DevOps team is responsible for supporting product development life cycle, continues integration and delivery/deployment automation, non-functional testing, infrastructure management (on-prem and cloud), release delivery, solutions design, and customer implementations by adhering to DevOps best practices and standards. Further he/she will gather customer requirements and utilise knowledge of DevOps, site reliability, programming languages, tooling, frameworks, infrastructure, and systems to design and produce complex solutions.

Over time, the effectiveness of this individual will be measured by improvements in:

• Effective and efficient solution design
• Optimum use of on-prem and Cloud infrastructure
• Cloud cost optimisation
• Stakeholder management
• Contribution to DevOps team Strategy which encompasses release delivery, non-functional testing, and Cloud.
  
  

The Senior Lead DevOps Engineer will directly report to DevOps Manager of the program.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilises knowledge of DevOps, site reliability, scripting/programming languages, tooling, frameworks, infrastructure, and systems.
• Leads designs of automated deployment solutions, systems, and features to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of services.
• Build scalable deployment solutions in cloud.
• Provides mentorship and advice to other team members on leading availability and performance of critical services and building automation to prevent problem recurrence.
• Mentors and trains other team members on design techniques and standards and cultivate innovation and collaboration.
• Carryout technology exploration to improve efficiency and suggest area of improvement.
• Be the point of contact in their domain by showing depth of knowledge.
• Supports essential processes while ensuring high quality standards are met.
• Ensure application non-functional requirements on performance, resiliency, and security.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving across the operations cycle automation tools stack.
• Carryout non-functional testing of the application and support client testing activities.
  
  

Skills And Proficiencies

• Knowledge and experience on AWS/Azure Technologies deployment in a production setup
• Automation and Scripting using, Python, Groovy, Ansible and Terraform
• Describe, Configure, Automate various Kubernetes components, services, and configurations.
• Describe the Kubernetes architecture, purpose.
• Experience writing helm charts & Kustomize manifests
• Experience in GitOps practices and tool chains [ Ex: - ArgoCD ]
• Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines GitLab/Jenkins
• Experience in configuring DataDog.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• Masters or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Deep understanding in the modern SDLC and practices and DevOps tools
• Good knowledge of configuration management and continuous integration tools
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Experience in Stakeholder management in a large projects
• At least 7 years’ experience in the industry and at least two years in lead capacity in a DevOps role
