Role Profile

The role is within the TRADEcho team which sits within the Application Services Division. We strive for our engineers to work within small, agile, self-managed teams that emphasize best practice and believe quality is everyone’s responsibility. They bring an enthusiastic “you build it you run it” mindset whilst making sure they share their knowledge while removing constraints.

You will have the opportunity to lead on our cloud first initiative contributing to how we design, build, and implement cloud solutions. It goes hand in hand that troubleshooting, enhancing the environments, and ensuring service availability will be a key part of this role.

AWS (including all Core Services & Security Controls), Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Anthos, Kubernetes, ECR, Kafka, PostgresSQL, Datadog, Moogsoft, BigPanda, Elastic Search, Scripting Technologies (Bash / Python / PowerShell), Control-M, Jira, Confluence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical feedback into the design and implementation of re-engineering efforts on our MIT equities systems, including the exchange, surveillance and price dissemination platforms.
• Act as the operations SME for one or more of the supported MIT equities applications
• Develop training materials and provide seminars and workshops on the support of MIT equities applications to colleagues in the UK
• Provide Level 2 technical advice and risk assessment based on knowledge of applications, databases and system software
• Ensure that all operational responsibilities are performed including monitoring systems and deploying releases
• Provide effective customer concern and resolution of issues and problems to customers
• Gain an in-depth knowledge of the unit’s processes
• Level 2 support for critical trading systems and meet SLAs for supported services.
• Identify and implement operational improvements for processes, performance and reliability
• Experience in developing cloud native applications
• Experience in automating infrastructure provisioning and application deployment
• Build CI/CD pipelines orchestrating the promotion of code
• Define and implement cloud native operational requirements
• Build Onprem and AWS/Cloud based applications
• Service Management and ITSM practice
• Open and collaborative demeanor keeping artifacts up to date and relevant while actively promoting knowledge sharing
