Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of web technologies (e.g., HTTP, RESTful APIs, HTML, JavaScript) and security concepts.
- Familiarity with common web vulnerabilities and the OWASP Top 10.
- Experience with security tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, or similar is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
Key Responsibilities:
- API Security: Assist in analyzing, testing, and securing APIs to prevent vulnerabilities such as injection attacks, broken authentication, and data exposure.
- Web Application Security: Participate in the assessment and remediation of security vulnerabilities in web applications, including cross-site scripting (XSS), cross-site request forgery (CSRF), and SQL injection.
- Penetration Testing: Conduct penetration tests on APIs and web applications to identify security weaknesses and suggest improvements.
- Security Tools: Utilize security tools to scan and monitor web applications and APIs for potential threats and anomalies.
- Collaborate with Developers: Work closely with the development team to ensure that security best practices are integrated into the software development lifecycle.
- Documentation: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of security documentation, including guidelines for secure coding and API development.
