Department Overview

Motorola's Access Control Division's (previously OpenPath, now Avigilon Alta) mission is to improve your workday with smart office technology at your front door. We are looking for candidates who can help us build, scale and innovate as we develop our industry leading platform for access control and office automation. Strong analytical and software skills are a must in order to join our team, and we are particularly seeking candidates with experience and skills in multiple technologies, in order to contribute broadly to our team-centric approach to product development.

Elevate Your Career: JavaScript/React/Node.js Software Engineering Intern Opportunity!

We are seeking a passionate Software Engineering Intern with a strong interest in developing and maintaining modern JavaScript/React/Node.js applications and cloud-based solutions. Join our team to help expand our capabilities and deliver the next generation of software solutions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Agile Development: Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to optimize team performance using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Collaborative Development: Work in a dynamic environment, leveraging best practices in software engineering and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Quality Assurance: Design and execute tests, including unit, integration, system, and end-to-end tests, to ensure application reliability and performance.
• Frontend & Backend Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop robust React-based frontends and Node.js backend services.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in JavaScript/ES6+, Node.js, and React.js.
• Experience in building and deploying RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js.
• Familiarity with SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Understanding of state management tools such as Redux or Context API.
• Familiarity with front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite) and testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker) is a plus.

Basic Requirements

• Must be pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical degree) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
