Job Summary:
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Lead Systems Engineer with expertise in Unified Communication (UC) solutions to drive the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-grade UC systems. In this leadership role, you will work closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless communication experiences while mentoring a team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise Unified Communication solutions, including 3CX and Uniconnect Product Suits.
- Lead the integration of UC systems with other enterprise tools and applications to ensure a unified user experience. (Ex. CRM & ERP Systems)
- Architect and maintain networking infrastructure to support UC solutions, including LAN, WAN, VLANs, and QoS configurations.
- Oversee the migration of legacy communication systems to modern, cloud-based UC platforms.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance and user experience across all UC platforms.
- Design and enforce policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain system security and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess UC requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to UC systems and coordinate with vendors for advanced support.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in Unified Communications to provide strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with IT security teams to ensure UC systems align with broader organizational cybersecurity frameworks.
- Ensure UC systems comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
- Engage with customers/partners to ensure optimal service delivery and resolution of complex technical issues.
Required Qualifications:
- University Degree in Computer Systems, Information Technology, Networking, or equivalent professional qualifications.
- Minimum Six (6) years of experience with a track record in working with Enterprise Grade Unified Communications and Cloud-based solutions.
- Strong interest in learning and implementing new technologies.
- Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills along with a service mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Strong knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP), PBX systems, and video conferencing technologies.
- Proficiency in deploying UC solutions in cloud environments (e.g., VMware, Microsoft Azure, AWS)
- Experience with network infrastructure as it relates to UC, including QoS, VLANs, and SBCs (Session Border Controllers).
- Strong understanding of UC security protocols and compliance standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a UC environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with experience managing technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as 3CX Advance Certification, Cisco Collaboration certifications, Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist, Cisco CCNA Voice certification or similar UC-focused credentials.
Knowledge of scripting and automation tools for UC environments (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
Familiarity with hybrid UC deployments and migration strategies.
