Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Web Development Intern (paid internship), located in Colombo. The Web Development Intern will be responsible for supporting both front-end and back-end web development tasks, assisting in designing and developing websites, and collaborating with team members to enhance web functionalities. Daily tasks will include coding, debugging, and participating in project planning and execution meetings.
The role primarily involves working with WordPress, including tasks related to WordPress security and maintenance. Additionally, the intern will assist with Google Sheets and Docs for documentation and reporting. In rare emergency situations, the candidate should be willing to work at night if required. The role also involves accompanying the IT team to events in Colombo at night (1 day every 3 months/optional).
Qualifications
-Proficiency in Front-End Development and Web Design
-Proficiency in Back-End Web Development and WordPress Development
-Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web technologies
-Familiarity with WordPress security practices
-Experience with Google Sheets and Docs
-Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members
-Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and improving skill sets
-Ability to work at night if needed, only in emergency situations
-Willingness to attend IT-related events in Colombo at night (1 day every 3 months)
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or currently pursuing a similar degree is a plus
