What you will be working on
You will be writing web applications based on various public datasets. We are developing a data platform to collect such datasets and provide generic APIs to query and export the data for application developers. As both the creators and first users of these APIs, we will actively use them to build our own applications, refining their design through direct usage. Your task will be to create interactive interfaces to navigate through the data we collect. This involves web application development and also minor involvement in developing the data platform. Note that this is an open source project.
Technical Skills
Must-Have:
- Frontend Development: Experience with React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Backend & APIs: Experience with REST APIs.
- Full-Stack Development: Experience in both frontend and backend development.
- Database Technologies: Experience with database technologies such as MongoDB, MySQL, Postgres.
- Programming Proficiency: Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go).
- Scalability: Experience building scalable web applications.
- UI/UX Design: Experience in UI/UX design.
Good to have:
- Experience with additional frontend technologies.
- Experience with GraphQL and/or gRPC.
- Experience with graph databases.
- Familiarity with Ballerina programming language.
Other Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Fluency in English, ability to contribute ideas and conduct technical debates.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment with strict deadlines.
