Senior Automation Test Analyst - Warehouse Tech
Warehouse Tech is looking for a Senior Automation Test Analyst to join our rapidly expanding technology team to assist in the testing of warehouse systems. This is a great opportunity for a Test Analyst to work closely with our Product Owners to ensure we deliver business value whilst creating high-performing technology solutions.

The Warehouse team at NEXT Technology manages our extensive warehouse estate in Yorkshire, which utilizes a vast amount of technology to receive, store, pick, and pack items for our customers. This technology includes 40 miles of conveyor belts and hundreds of storage and picking robots, all of which contribute to the automation-focused, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment of the warehouse.
About the Team
Working closely with the QA Team Leaders and other team members on various Warehouse projects, you will provide the high-quality deliveries and analytical skills needed to enhance and support the financial systems at Next.
About the Role
In this role ,you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of warehouse management systems (WMS) and related applications. This involves both manual and automated testing.
You'll need to understand business requirements and translate them into detailed test scenarios and test cases. This requires strong analytical skills. A significant portion of the role involves developing and maintaining test automation frameworks and scripts. This requires programming skills and knowledge of industry-standard automation tools and practices.You'll be responsible for identifying, documenting, and tracking defects.
You'll need to work with developers to ensure issues are resolved promptly. You'll provide fault-finding expertise, and following issues through to their resolution as well as providing out-of-hours support, as and when required, to cover key business events and ensuring clear and concise documentation for a variety of audiences.
Essential Criteria
- Sound knowledge of SQA concepts, methodologies, tools and techniques
- Experience with preparing/maintaining QA Artefacts( eg. test plans, test case document and automation scripts)
- Experience in all phases of the software life cycle
- Experience in API testing using Postman
- Knowledge on test automation and test framework
- Experience in Azure DevOps/Jira
- Identify and escalate (where appropriate) testing risks and issues
- Proficient in using Selenium WebDriver to automate web browsers for testing
- Experience with at least one testing framework like TestNG or JUnit to structure and organize automated tests.
- Solid programming skills in .NET
- Basic understanding of how to write effective prompts to get the desired output from Copilot.
- Ability to design comprehensive test cases covering different scenarios and edge cases.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and stay updated with the latest testing trends and tools.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in a warehouse or other related environment
- Applied knowledge of agile, iterative, and waterfall development processes
- Experience with performance and security testing.
- Knowledge of cloud testing platforms.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent
- Experience of using Azure DevOps
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Software Engineering or any other technical related degree
- 4 + years of industry experience
- Good communication and analytical skills, both written and verbal.
